Assalamualikum (peace be upon you),
Just a little introduction. I am a qualified Muslim midwife, I trained in the UK and work here too. I have a BSc (Hons) in Midwifery after 3 very long and hard years of training, but Alhamdulillah (praise be to God) I made it to the end.
OK so the first question I always get asked is, what inspired me to become a midwife? Well honestly since I was a young girl in school I wished one day I would become a Midwife. I actually didn't even know what a midwife really meant or how babies came into this world. All I knew was a midwife was a caring person that took care of a mother and her baby and I wanted to be one. So my answer is that it was my childhood dream!
